BlackNorth Initiative Alberta Chapter Launch

We are excited to announce the highly anticipated launch of the BlackNorth Initiative Alberta Chapter on July 27, 2023, at the Calgary Petroleum Club, bringing together influential organizations and allies to champion the cause of eliminating anti-Black systemic barriers in addition to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across Alberta.

The BlackNorth Initiative is a national organization dedicated to combating anti-Black systemic racism in Canada. Our mission is to drive transformative change by encouraging organizations to make measurable commitments and take concrete actions toward achieving racial equity. Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to create lasting impacts in various sectors, including business, government, academia, and the community.

The Alberta Chapter Launch will be a momentous occasion, bringing together prominent leaders, advocates, change-makers, and members of the Black community who are committed to fostering an inclusive society. The event will provide a platform to discuss and strategize ways to address systemic barriers faced by Black communities in Alberta and create opportunities for their advancement as well as those of other underrepresented communities.
